About this event
Beginning Wheel Throwing with Tony Madorsky November 12 – December 17
Thursdays 5:30pm – 8:30pm
My introduction to wheel throwing class will teach students the fundamentals of wheel-thrown pottery. Students will learn the process of making basic, functional forms such as cylinders, cups, bowls, plates, etc. The class will cover each stage: preparing clay, centering on the wheel, pulling walls, trimming, and handling. In the 5th and 6th weeks of class we will cover surface decoration and glazing, following adequate studio practices. By the end of the class, students will have completed several finished pieces. Through demonstration, hands-on instruction, and individual advice, I will help students develop a strong foundation of knowledge for continuing their wheel-throwing practice.
Clay is NO T included in this class and can be purchased in the Jane’s studio.
